The New Pornographers
For the last two decades, The New Pornographers have been delivering infectious hooks, sweet harmonies, and a pile of power-pop riffs every time they take the stage. The critically acclaimed supergroup — A.C. Newman, Neko Case, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey, Blaine Thurier, John Collins, Joe Seiders and Simi Stone — embarks on a new tour in support of their brand new record In The Morse Code Of Brake Lights. The album is more of what The New Pornographers do best: “pure, blissfully irresistible power-pop” (NPR Music).
Reuben And The Dark
Reuben and the Dark is the enrapturing alt folk-rock outfit led by singer-songwriter Reuben Bullock, whose music blends introspective lyrics with soaring instrumentals. Reuben and the Dark’s music has been featured in Breaking Bad, The Highwaymen, Game of Thrones, Handmaids Tale, and many more. The talented Calgary-born Joshua Tree-based singer-songwriter, skateboarder and carpenter has released four full lengths on Arts & Crafts and toured the world.
In Lieu of Light
Reuben and the Dark has long nurtured a bond with its audience that transcends the power of human communion with music as the chosen vehicle. Now, the spirited folkrock outfit announces its fourth album, In Lieu of Light, a collection of songs as bare and unguarded as any frontman Reuben Bullock has offered before. Recalling the spontaneity of the band’s resounding 2013 arrival Funeral Sky, the eleven songs of In Lieu of Light are both humble and vast, flourishing from the simplicity of gentle piano and guitar – at times favouring the delicate frame of its intimacy, at others conceding to the anthems in its melodies. It is honest heart-based music, wide open yet lonesome, and begging connection.
In Lieu of Light was recorded throughout 2021 when at times for many the world seemed at an excruciating standstill. Reuben’s pensive lyrics, always known for their environmental resonance, turn more inward here. There is an element of personal, deeply relatable soul-searching at play, a perseverance through darkness, grief, escapism, and a subtle celebration of this despair that we have all confronted.
Shred Kelly
Emerging from the majestic landscapes of the Canadian Rockies, Shred Kelly is a powerhouse band that seamlessly blends elements of alternative, folk, and rock music. With a captivating live act that leaves audiences in awe, they have become a mainstay in the Canadian music scene. But it’s not just their energetic performances that set them apart—Shred Kelly’s heartfelt songwriting strikes a chord with listeners, connecting deeply as each band member brings their eclectic musical influences to the table, shaping the group’s unique musical direction.
With an impressive track record of touring across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the UK, Shred Kelly has made appearances at renowned festivals such as Kaslo Jazz, Ottawa Blues Fest, Winnipeg Folk Fest, SXSW, Reeperbahn and many more. Furthermore the band has shared stages with esteemed acts such as The Dead South, Elliott Brood, and The Cave Singers, leading to their reputation as a dynamic live act whose show is described as a joyous celebration of life.
With a fervent commitment to their craft, Shred Kelly has garnered praise from critics in Canada and beyond, earning Spotify Editorial Playlisting, international radio play, and regular rotation on influential platforms such as Sirius XM and Radio Eins in Berlin. Nominated for Rock Artist of the Year at The 2021 Western Canadian Music Awards, Shred Kelly’s ascent shows no signs of slowing down as they prepare to release their highly anticipated sixth studio album, produced by the acclaimed Nygel Asselin.
Leeroy Stagger
It’s said the cells in your body replace themselves every decade or so. After 11 albums, two EPs and 17 years as a singer-songwriter, Leeroy Stagger has been wondering if maybe the soul works the same way. Ten years sober, with two kids, a home in Victoria and a world-class recording studio to go with it, he’s far removed from the hard-living twenty-something who started on this musical path. As far as Stagger can see, they aren’t even the same person.
Leeroy Stagger returned October 1st with a new album, Dystopian Weekends. Recorded at the famous Afterlife Studios in Vancouver accidentally during the kickoff of a global pandemic, Dystopian Weekends is the serum of truth with a slice of light and darkness that we all need right now. Songs of environmental degradation, greedy land developers inspired by a character Buffy Sainte-Marie had told me about, Christmas songs about Junkies and Alcoholics, songs about race wars in America, modern day dust bowl songs of fleeing political ideology, break up songs and songs honouring my dead friends. It all seems a bit much on paper, but I think we’ve honoured it all in a very beautiful, relevant, and artistic way.
Brass Camel
Brass Camel is a unique Vancouver-based rock group whose singular sound mashes together the diverse influences of prog, funk, blues rock and jazz fusion, tying them together with the kind of neat bow only attained by five musicians who are gunning for glory on the same frequency. The band’s musicianship, songwriting and work ethic have led to endorsements from such companies as Sabian, Rotosound UK and Vater drumsticks. After a string of consecutive sell-out shows in Vancouver, the Camel embarked on their first national tour of Canada in 2023 before capping off that transformative year with a performance alongside Five Alarm Funk at a sold out Commodore Ballroom. In spring of 2024 the group amped up their efforts and completed a successful 10 week, coast-to-coast tour of Canada. The band is preparing to release a sophomore album before the end of the year and will work tirelessly throughout the summer having booked a non-stop collection of festival appearances around BC and beyond.
WiL&Co
His shows have been coined as legendary; his guitar style; ‘mesmerizing’; captivating listeners with his unusual strumming technique while creating lush, fat and full acoustic guitar sounds that have become signature to the fiery, silver bearded west coast based frontman that heads up the Indie folk rock outfit known as WiL& Co.
WiL has been writing, recording and touring since the release of his thrice WCMA nominated ( including a nod for Best Live Act ), debut album, Both Hands, sending him on tour across Canada with artists such as Colin James, Matthew Good, Burton Cummings and Matt Andersen. Standouts include opening for soul legend Mavis Staples, Canadian Indie darling, Feist, The Hip and one of his music heroes, Ray LaMontagne.
With countless shows under his belt, and a few sweet accolades that include penning ’Roam’,, the award winning anthem for Travel Alberta and ‘Ride’, The Calgary Stampede’s 100th year anniversary song, it was during co-vid, that WiL feels he found a kind of sanctuary in penning the lyrics for his 6th studio album ‘The Gold Mine’; an album that exemplifies the ability of the human spirit to find beauty where only coal dust seemed visible. ‘I’m Sorry’, the authentic and vulnerable lead single is one of those rare nuggets, helping pave the way onto select curated playlists.
Big Fuzz
In a blast of feedback and cymbals, BIG FUZZ’s bright future comes into focus. A booming voice primes the crowd: “Two words… you’ll hear them everywhere…” What follows is a set of irresistibly danceable, radio-ready rock that will be right at home with fans of Royal Blood, July Talk, and The Blue Stones.

Lake Of The Axe
Lake of the Axe was born in a secluded cabin by a lake in northern British Columbia, Canada. Since the late ’90s, this band has been crafting a unique sound that melds the sincerity of country soul, the grit of ranch rock, and the energy of grass punk.
Their music is a reflection of emotions from everything coming through the complicated windshield of life, addressing themes such as grief and celebration, addiction and sobriety, colonization and reconciliation, trauma and healing. All with a backdrop of barn dance rhythms that get the crowd dancing.
Their upcoming self-titled album, “Lake of the Axe,” is an honest exploration of these themes. The hard-hitting single “Sinner” delves into the depths of multigenerational trauma, while the country ballad “Salvation” charts a heartfelt journey through addiction. “Please Go Easy” offers a sobering look at the sacrifices made during the westward expansion of colonizing train routes, and “Livestock and Lumber” is a celebration of the rough beauty and history of their hometown in British Columbia. “The Flood and the Fire” is a future look down on a burning planet with a that ends with “What will I know I would do different, if I had this world again?”
After reuniting in another cabin in the woods to sharpen up their set a summer shows, the band found themselves unexpectedly filled with new songs and inspiration, leading to the creation of another new full-length album, set for release this winter. This album promises more heartfelt lyrics, vocal harmony, and a new mix of old country beats, piano and shining steel guitar.
