FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – JULY 5, 2016 ROSSLAND, BC, CANADA

RED Launches NEW Get Lost Adventure Centre, The First Of Its Kind In The Region

Friday July 1st, in conjunction with Canada Day celebrations, marked the grand opening of RED Mountain Resort’s Summer Get Lost Adventure Centre – the first central booking system for adventure activities in the Kootenays.

Get Lost has consolidated the region’s best adventure activities and vetted guides into one easy-to-use central booking engine. Its seamless digital platform allows guests to book their whitewater rafting session from the SeaTac security line or their rock climbing excursion from their kid’s soccer practice. Prices, duration, photos, videos, and more are all assembled under one digital roof that takes the adventure out of booking and makes purchasing some serious fun painless. Use that Smartphone to make the brightest buy of the season—and then turn that sucker off.

“We’re excited to have Get Lost be the first of its kind in the region. It will gather together the best activities and guides the Kootenays have to offer year-round in booking engine,” says Howard Katkov, owner and CEO of RED Mountain Resort. “While currently located in downtown Rossland, Get Lost’s winter location at the base area of RED Mountain Resort will be strategically important in the support of The Josie Hotel, a new boutique 106 room hotel, conference centre, and spa that is scheduled to open in the Summer/Fall of 2017 also at the base of RED. Whether staying at the The Josie or any other accommodations at RED, Get Lost is the new one-stop shop adventure portal.”

Locals and visitors that attended Friday’s Canada Celebration at the Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre got to experience Get Lost activities first hand. Kootenay Mountain Bike Coaching, Revolution Cycles, Endless Adventure, and Mountain Valley Sports Fishing & Tours – 4 of the summer activities through Get Lost – were showcasing their products to the public. Event-goers won loads of Get Lost swag and lucky winner, Cathy Lewis from Rossland, won the “Choose Your Own Adventure” Get Lost Activity Grand Prize.

“We’ve branded Get Lost to be purpose-built for getting people out into an adventure they’ll remember for life, whether that involves a first time kayak tour or a refresher on fly-fishing”, says Paul Clarke, Get Lost Adventure Centre Manager.

Get Lost is located in downtown Rossland next to Revolution Cycles from April to November, and at the base of RED Mountain Resort from December to March.

RED Mountain Resort
RED is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, 1st stop on Canada’s famous Powder Highway, RED delivers 2,877 acres of pristine, unfettered skiing. RED recently added nearly 1,000 acres of intermediate to advanced terrain on Grey Mountain. With 7.6m of annual snowfall, (cheap!) in-bounds cat-skiing, and the friendliest locals around, it’s no wonder The NY Times voted us their #8 “Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013.” Other recent wins include Powder’s “Ski Town Throwdown,” and “Most Underrated Resort” by Skiing. Fresh turns that you don’t have to fight for — that’s RED.
