Out of respect, we have been waiting for permission from the Greene family to make this deeply heavy post. On behalf of everyone from the RED Mountain family, we are so incredibly saddened by the sudden passing earlier this month of our most dedicated RED Mountain supporter, John Greene, commonly referred to as the Unofficial Mayor of RED. Please take a moment to read the official obituary of John, prepared by brother Rick, best friend and wife Cate, and other family members that we feel captures the essence of John for his tribute. We hope John finds some peace and endless powder lines.

The 11th edition of the Rattlecat Cup did not disappoint! Shredders of every age and skill level hopped on their snowboards and snowskates (to pay tribute to Lt. Danbo) and absolutely crushed it on the banked slalom course! A huge shoutout to all the competitors and winners, you were all amazing! Last week, RED Mountain had the honour of hosting one of the Natural Selection Tour's DUELs right here at RED Mountain - the only DUEL in Canada - featuring British Columbian pro rider Spencer O'Brien and American pro rider Mary Rand. What a weekend it was for the Adult 2* Qualifier at RED! 103 athletes - the most we've ever had - showed up to Links Line and put on a mind-blowing performance. From big airs to backies, these shredders keep pushing freeriding to the next level. We're already super stoked to see what the athletes have in store for us next year! The Canadian Open U12 Junior Regionals and Junior 3* events were an electrifying showcase, featuring over 200 of the premier junior skiers in North America battling it out for the prestigious Freeride Crown. Despite facing challenging conditions, these young daredevils fearlessly shredded down Link’s Line, defying gravity with jaw-dropping stunts and heart-pounding maneuvers. Their boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm lit up the slopes, leaving no doubt that the future of freeskiing is in the hands of these thrill-seeking prodigies. Despite the wet weather, this year’s Rail Jam popped off as the hoard of shredders attacked the features on Queen St in Downtown Rossland. RED’s new terrain park crew built a course that was bigger and better than ever. Skiers and snowboarders of all ages slipped ‘n slided down the rails, while spectators cheered and gasped from the sidelines. Oh, and we can’t forget the wild bunch who had the courage to try their hand at hitting features on snow skates. Congrats to all the rippers that topped the podium and a big thanks to our sponsors and friends at The Shop that helped make this event possible.
