The Hillties
Bio: 6 piece Funk/Reggae/Hip-Hop/Jam Band out of Nelson BC. The secret is out. The Hillties infectious dance floor Funkathons are a hit! From vibrant summer festivals like Kamp, Frogfest & Sasquatch Gathering to community events and the best live music venues all across Western Canada, the reception is unanimous; THEY ALL WANT MORE. Fans of Sublime, Stevie Wonder and Slick Rick get down to The Hillties smooth side, while their more rock influenced jams evoke feelings of Rage Against The Machine with a splash of Tenacious D for fun. The band’s fluid approach to songwriting ensures that no tune is ever played the same way twice, tailoring each performance to the vibe of the crowd.
The Hillties take a professional attitude to their art form and aim to please audiences, venues and promoters alike. Their work ethic is evident with the fast mounting stack of accolades, appearances, reviews and ever evolving releases.
Stübbs Änd The
Bio: Stubbs and The are ever-enigmatic. The evolving nature of their name reflects the organic spontaneity of their sound. Rooted in Rossland, BC, this 5-piece first bloomed playing crowd-pleasing covers before transforming into their independent, theatrical original music.
From head banging to their Italian metal song Cannibali, or ballroom dancing to The Waltz from their 10 part Odyssey of Barbara T., the crowds can’t help but join their wacky, whimsical, wingdings.
With lyrics in 7 different languages and a tracklist that defies labelling under traditional genres, Stubbs and The Experience speaks for itself.
The Revverie
Bio: The boys hail from Nelson BC and have a long long history in the Canadian music scene having been members of Mathew Good Band, The Automation, Sex with Nixon, and even responsible for the sounds of Battle Axe Records back in the day.
With vibes reminiscent of the CLASH and The Strokes, get ready for vintage point and shoot, 70’s style rock and roll!
Earth Freaks
Bio: Drawing from a diverse blend of influences, Earth Freaks present their own unique brand of nostalgia induced psych-rock in an explosive high energy format. Through carefully crafted songwriting and infectious stage presence, they take the listener out of our current reality for a short trip back to a place in time where music was raw and honest.
Anna Katarina
Bio: Anna Katarina is a Canadian/American indie singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (vocals, keys, guitars) and performer known for her honest voice, bold lyrics and diverse compositions. “…her performances have always been the sort of goosebump raising sonic experience you would imagine in a deep sublime dream state, gently drawing you out of your slumber.” – Jeff Sawyer, The Nelson Daily.
Katarina actively studies the music business, is an accomplished co-writer, and mentors fellow female artists. After developing a strong background in classical music, she continued her studies at Selkirk College (Southeastern BC) and Berklee College of Music (Boston), which led to finding her groove in songwriting and embarking on international collaborations.
Katarina is also one-half of the Indie-Folk duo, Rumour Mill.
