Welcome [BACK]
To The Good Life.
RED MOUNTAIN IN ROSSLAND, BC
Wasn’t The Good Life last year’s big anthem? Is RED gettin’ lazy on you? Nope, we’re just admitting that The Good Life easily lasts more than a single season—if you let it.
It still goes down in a place where the skiing exceeds your wildest dreams. And our rhetoric defining it is still quite unsophisticated today… The short version is it’s what makes RED, um, you know, RED. The product born from the reasons we love RED & Rossland, why we moved here, why we can’t shut up about “it”.
But even better, you all showed us personally what it meant to you last winter, and it was quite, well, good.
So hold on tight, because this winter The Good Life is getting just a little bit Good-er. Whether it’s a long weekend or a veritable lifetime—an adventure here should make you feel The Good Life in your bones, and we can’t wait to share that with you this winter.

More mountains to love.
RED is a world unto itself. If you can see it, chances are you can ski it. We are famous for our peaks with 360-degree descents (rather than just a “front side” and “back side”). And we’re infamous for our uncrowded, unhurried vibe. People come here for our pristine powder and legendary tree skiing but end up staying because of the incredible variety on-offer.
From in-bounds cliffs and pillow lines to cat-skiing and high-speed groomers chasing your friends at Star Wars speeds, pew-pew!, RED’s vast terrain is where The Good Life goes down. (Get yours, yeah?)

ROSSLAND & RED: Ground Zero 4 Fun
Rossland, the glorious gold mining town that’s home to RED, was voted Canada’s #1 ski town two years in a row. You instantly have a LOT in common with these folks who live to ride, whether it’s snowboards in the winter or bikes in the summer (usually both!).
You can feel the camaraderie at the gourmet grocery store and on the chair ascending Granite Mountain. You’ll see four generations of a family heading up to the hill together, smiles all around – and ripping down the hill faster than you thought possible. Or you may run into that ancient telemarker with so much ice in his beard that he looks like a Tundra Wookie, but who shares with you the sickest tree run you’ve ever bagged in your life. It had no name. And neither did he.
People first come here for a ski weekend…and then send for their stuff back home. The Good Life just doesn’t get any better.

Legendarily Lucky Locals
It isn’t just a Canadian stereotype, Rossland has some of the friendliest folk around! Meet some of our friends that are living The Good Life here in Rossland.
The good-est women around
As the saying goes, “behind every successful woman is a tribe of women who have her back,” and here at RED we are lucky to have this be our reality with so many incredible women in managerial roles.
Sleep to Slay
Nothing deflates a delicious day on the mountain quite like returning to some dank, dark condo that was maybe built for Hobbits. At RED, we pride ourselves on accom options that’ll keep your stoke up day and night. We know those burning quads need a good bed, some good food, and a clean couch you can sink into.
Whether you’re a world traveler on a shredder’s shoestring budget or a baller rockin’ on your boss’s dime, RED’s got you covered in style with what we like to call some of the best “creature comforts” around. From Nowhere Special, our styley-modern hostel at the base, to the Josie, a boutique ski-in ski-out hotel, to our cornerstone condos, we take warm, clean, and relaxing seriously so you don’t have to. Sleep fast—morning comes quickly!

Goldmines & Grit
Rossland and RED were both born out of goldmines and grit. Nothing here is fancy or fake, just real-deal wonderful. From the granite buildings on Rossland’s main drag to the miner’s shacks that have been reimagined as dirtbag pads, this is a place with a pulse.
When picking up a mellow six, you might notice a strange statue of a hearty Norwegian man surveying his kingdom. That’s Olaus Jeldness, the patron saint of skiing around these parts. He brought skiing to RED and his infectious passion for tempting gravity lives on. The engraving on the Olaus Jeldness Trophy from 1908 says it all: “Play not for gain but for sport. Leap not for gold but glee.”

Hidden Cabins
Something beautifully unique here at RED Mountain is the network of “hidden” cabins that have been built over the years, both within bounds and just outside of RED’s terrain here in Rossland. Watch the video to learn more!

What does The Good Life mean to you? Is it that powder day that’s sooooo stunning you can’t find words to describe it? Is it that perfect, frosty pint at Rafters when you can barely feel your legs after all-day hot laps on Granite? Maybe it’s a muscle-relaxing hot tub with your crew as the snow piles up outside for another epic day tomorrow. Or maybe it’s simply seeing the ear-to-ear grin on your preschooler as she links her first turns.
